Impedance Matching by Using a Multi-stub System

چکیده
Nowadays lots of applications in telecommunications require a wide bandwidth to transmit more information and improve the quality on the transmission of this information. In order to guarantee this condition low losses systems are designed; these losses can be classified in dissipation losses and mismatch losses. There are different classic methods for impedance matching, but they reach the impedance matching in a very narrow bandwidth, whereas the bandwidth used in different applications is generally greater in accordance with the quantity of information to be transmitted. A solution proposed in this paper to reach an impedance matching into a wider bandwidth is through the connection of various stub lines in parallel all along the transmission line, so we can have a multiple variables system, with more grades of liberty. A software that automatizes the calculations to reach the impedance matching was programmed, by using the minimum squares and Nelder-Mead methods. Once the user introduces the data of Standing Wave Ratio (SWR) and bandwidth desired, the load impedance and the work frequency of the system, the program determines the minimum number of stubs necessary to match the system, and the longitudes and distances along the line where they should be located. Key–Words: SWR, stub, impedance matching, optimization

متن کاملDesign, Simulation and implementation of active dual-band dipole antenna using a series stub
In this paper, a new method for designing an active dual-band dipole antenna is proposed. The operating frequencies of the proposed antenna are 150 and 450 MHz that are usually used in military applications. Using a series stub is the main idea in the proposed dual-band antenna, where it makes an independent resonance frequency higher than the main resonance frequency of a conventional dipole. ...

We have observed that the size and shape of the conducting reflector of CPW-fed slot antennas using loading metallic strips and a widened tuning stub have significant impact on the antenna impedance matching and radiation pattern. By shaping the reflecting conductor, noticeable enhancements in both radiation pattern which provides uni-directional all frequency operating band and characteristic ...

Impedance bandwidth, radiation pattern, and gain characteristics of the proposed antenna are investigated. The simulated results show that the impedance matching of the proposed rotated slot antenna is greatly affected by the dimension of the slot...
متن کاملReview of Impedance Matching Networks for Bandwidth Enhancement
A number of techniques can be used to eliminate reflections when the characteristic impedance of the line and the load impedance are mismatched. Impedance matching techniques can be designed to be effective for a specific frequency of operation (narrow band techniques) or for a given frequency spectrum (broadband techniques). The purpose of this paper is to make a comparative study on bandwidth...
